Campground
Doheny State Beach consists of two beaches and a campground. The north and south beaches are separated by the San Juan Creek.
The main entrance is at Park Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive.
Doheny State Beach North has a large grassy picnic area, picnic tables, sand volleyball, and restrooms. The beach is nice for stand-up paddle boarding and swimming. There are also tide pools here that can be explored when the tide is out. There are many surf competitions, surf schools, and events held here.
Doheny State Beach South has some picnic benches, a pay parking lot, and a pedestrian bridge over the train tracks.
Doheny State Beach Park also has a beach cafe, visitor center, rental center, and a butterfly garden.
