Dana Point Headlands Beach is just below the cliffs of Dana Point Headlands.  It is a sandy beach with many rocks.  There are also tide pools in this area.  The entrance to this beach is behind the Ocean Institute down a set of stairs.  During high tide, much of the beach and the bottom of the stairs may be covered.
